The importance of end user training is often under estimated in many IT implementations and in our experience this is particularly common in IBM Lotus environments. Ensuring that your users fully understand the capabilities of the solution and know how to use the features that help them be most productive is critical to a successful deployment.
In addition to ensuring that your end users are suitably trained in the deployed Lotus solutions, the need to maintain technical competence within the IT function is also extremely important. Whether it be for certification purposes or just a need to 'know more' keeping skills in the IT team up to date clearly enables them to provide a better service to the business as well as improving their own job satisfaction.
