Lotus Traveler supports Nokia S60, Windows Mobile and iPhone devices
Lotus Traveler goes from strength to strength
February 2010
Remember, this product comes free with your Lotus Notes license so the ROI is high. Similar products charge not only for the server, but also for each user that connects to the product.
All you need to operate Lotus Traveler is a Lotus Domino server, the appropriate access on your firewall and some mobile devices - it really is that simple.
Currently Lotus Traveler supports Nokia S60, Windows Mobile and iPhone devices, but at Lotusphere 2010 IBM Lotus announced several new developments, one of which is a planned Lotus Traveler client for Android. The iPhone users experience is now in line with the other devices in that a user can now accept meeting invites on their iPhone devices. In addition you can now download Lotus Traveller Companion from the Apple iPhone App Store - a free product that will allow iPhone users to read encrypted lotus Notes emails something Windows Mobile and Nokia S60 users have been able to do since R8.5.1.

With full Sync for your emails, folders, contacts, calendar and journal databases it provides the user base with a choice of mobile devices that are supported on a single platform thats easy to use and easy to install. You simply point your device browser at a specified URL to authenticate to the Traveler server.

Its worth noting that IBM are getting closer and closer to RIM while at the same time building on their Traveler product. Announced at Lotusphere are 3 new connectors for Blackberry users. Planned for the 2nd quarter of 2010 the connectors will give Quickr, Connections and Symphony access.
They didn't stop there, support is now built in to the Lotus Domino Designer and XPages development environments so Lotus developers can write one for both Web and BlackBerry smartphones.
